William Petersen is quitting as Gil Grissom.

Nooooooooo!
I mean, I understand from the performer's point of view - 10 years is a long time to play the same character.
But the show just won't be the same without him.

Well, we all knew it was coming, but that doesn't make it any better.
Still, at least they're bringing Lady Heather back, who is about the only character who's ever been able to mentally match him.
I give it one season without Gil before the show wraps up.

I'm not a regular watcher of the show, but I must admit that I can't imagine CSI without him myself. And I can't believe it's been going for so long. It still seems like a relatively new show to me!

Ahhhh, fuck.
Well, I knew it was coming and I guess we should be happy that he was on for as long as he was. Who knows, maybe we'll be surprised and the show will still be excellent.

Hmmm.
Let's just hope he doesn't go the way of David Caruso.

Well, I've got my sunglasses, just in case. Is he still going to exec produce?

According to a news item on ITV's teletext service, yes, he is.

*Iago rolls on floor, laughing out loud*
I'd like to think the fact he waited 10 years to leave takes him out of the David Caruso category. That and the fact I haven't seen Petersen do any press conferences about how he's going to be a movie star.
Also, darn. I'm not a regular watcher of the show, but I always enjoy it when I catch it. And William Petersen is certainly one of the reasons I enjoy it.
