I just went out to this website to check out an educational software package. I was on the page for a while, when all of a sudden, there's this sound like the old "If this had been an actual emergency" tone. Only, I don't realize it's coming from the computer, and for a second it's 1965 in my mind, and I'm thinking the Russians are about to drop the big one.
Then, I remember the Cold War has been over for quite a while.
And I'm in Canadia.
At this point, the warning tone ends and the website breaks into some Dave Brubeck-style jazz.
I've gone back, but I can't get the site to do it again.

So, maybe it wasn't the website after all.
Is playing Dave Brubeck-style jazz a warning sign for anything in Canadia? Are we about to be invaded by 60's hep cats?
Okay...

Hmmmm. I can't get it to play Dave Brubeck at all. Still, I think you must be right: it was an emergency and Dave was there to help us cope (sort of like the band on the Titanic and all). The Canadian customers used to get Celine Dion, but that only caused more panic. Apparently the emergency is over now. Or maybe it was only "a Test of the Internet Broadcast Service."

You have to watch out for those 60's hep cats - they're liable to blow cigarette smoke in your face, and as we all know from the commercials, second-hand smoke is the most dangerous, lethal substance aroundIago wrote:Is playing Dave Brubeck-style jazz a warning sign for anything in Canadia?
