Need computer printer advice, please

A temporary board while I'm working out issues with the real WD.

The posts made here will not appear on the real WD when it re-opens.

Please note that I won't be providing any technical support for this board, as I would prefer to focus my attention on fixing the other board. So, if you're confused by anything, just try to figure things out, search the phpBB forums, ask other users for help, or just bear with it.

I was just at the bookstore and the current issue (March 2009, why do they always put the next month's date on the issue?) has a cover story about how to get your wireless printer to work correctly. It made me think of you. ;)

If by "future" you mean "really old technology", then yes, you are correct [grin]. However, there are things about thermal printers that no one tells you about.

When they wear out (and they will), the printhead starts to not print dots, leaving blank columns down the paper. Replacing a thermal printhead is VERY expensive - about $400 for the printhead alone and lord knows how much for labor. That being said - I hope you have a long and fruitful relation with your printer.

Ok, I bought my new wireless printer a couple weeks ago, but I let it sit in the box until today. I just finished setting it up (for BOTH computers), and although I was nervous that something would go womlu, nothing did. It works!

Thanks, everyone, as always, for your advice and input.
