Need to get something off your chest but can't say it where the intended recipient will actually read it?
ME TOO.
Here goes: Fuck you, Allison. I am sick and tired of you criticizing my parenting to make yourself feel better about your choices.
Your turn.
VENT.
Re: VENT.
Er, that's not her website. She forgot part of the URL.Delle wrote:Do you actually know who Allison is? I wondered, because I clicked the website she links to, and it's an odd one.
I know her in real life, from knitting, which is part of why I am so furious. In person she is so non-judgmental but get her online and she is super-defensive and nasty about my parenting (and my friend Cory's parenting as well).
Re: VENT.
I think you should take the Zen approach. Sit cross-legged with her on the floor, so close that you are, in the words of my old Zen Master, "knee to knee, eyeball to eyeball."
Each of you breathing in for a 10 count, breathing out for a 10 count. Match her rhythm, feeling more and more at one with her. When she starts to nod off, hit her over the head with a bamboo stick.

Re: VENT.
Well I probably didn't help by adding my two cents worth, but I knew for sure it wasn't my twinnie and this Allison was unbelievably abrasive. Besides, like I said in my mini-post in your comment section, the thing that makes me nuts more than anything are mothers that throw criticism at other moms. Where is our sisterhood? Where is the support? I honestly don't think she would have had the balls to tell you stop working in an office environment if you were having the occasional bad day at work under those circumstances. Same situation, just different job and different job environment.
Anyway, I obviously made her even more belligerent because she in essence told the rest of us to back the fuck off.
I'm not sure I'd knit with her anymore and if I had to, I might be tempted to tell her about a convenient orifice where she could stuff (I mean stow) her needles.
Anyway, I apologize for making things worse. I just wanted you to know that I know how hard this all is and the fact that you have bad days as a mom is totally normal and you do an incredible job at the hardest job in the world.
Squishy hug.

Re: VENT.
I don't know what we're talking about, but I like you better than this other person who has gotten everyone in a kerfuffle. She is obviously bad news.
So I just wanted to vehemently agree with you. Go you!
Also, go you for realizing she is criticizing to feel better about herself. Why can't people just go have large amounts of chocolate and watch hours of stupid television like the rest of us??

Re: VENT.
Hmmm, I don't have anything to vent about right this minute (I must be sick!), so I'll just say that I agree with everyone else (although I never got around to saying so in your blog) that Allison (not our Allison of course) seems like a real ass.
